Forza Horizon 6 gets two new dynamic backgrounds on Xbox Series X and S

Forza Horizon 6 is now available, and Microsoft is marking the launch with two new dynamic backgrounds for Xbox Series X and Series S. Both backgrounds are based on the game’s Japan setting and are available now for all current Xbox console owners.

One of the backgrounds arrived earlier this month, while the second was added on launch day as Forza Horizon 6 rolled out through Xbox Game Pass. Both use animated artwork from the game, giving players a simple way to bring Horizon Japan to their Xbox home screen.

The newer background focuses on a cherry blossom lined street. It has a soft look, with pink petals moving in the wind. The second background uses the game’s main key art and includes more subtle motion effects.

The animations are not heavy or distracting. They are closer to gentle motion than a full animated scene, which may suit the Xbox dashboard better. A background needs to look good without making the home screen feel too busy, and both Forza Horizon 6 options seem designed with that in mind.

The cherry blossom background may become the more popular of the two because it feels more connected to the game’s Japanese setting. It gives the dashboard a calmer look while still showing the visual identity of Forza Horizon 6.

The launch timing also makes sense. Forza Horizon 6 is one of Xbox’s biggest releases of 2026, and dynamic backgrounds have become a small but appreciated way for Microsoft to celebrate major first party games.

You can find the new backgrounds in the Xbox settings menu under personalization. From there, choose dynamic backgrounds and look for the Forza Horizon 6 options.

Forza Horizon 6 is now available on Xbox Series X and S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass. The new backgrounds are a small extra, but they are a nice touch for players who want their console dashboard to match the game’s launch week excitement.
