Microsoft already has five Xbox Game Pass additions confirmed for August 2026, giving subscribers an early look at next month’s lineup. More titles are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, but the current list already includes two major releases in Beast of Reincarnation and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
The August slate follows a busy July schedule for the service, which still has several games on the way, including Halo: Campaign Evolved on July 28. That means Game Pass subscribers are getting a fairly packed stretch across late July and August, especially if Microsoft adds more titles to the August list later.
For now, the confirmed August lineup covers action RPGs, tower survival, automation, farming horror, and a prequel to one of the most respected narrative adventure series of recent years. The mix is smaller than a full monthly reveal, but it already gives subscribers several different genres to watch.
Beast of Reincarnation and Resonance lead the early August lineup
Beast of Reincarnation arrives first on August 4 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Cloud. It is Game Freak’s new action RPG and is described as a “one person, one dog” adventure with a mix of real time and turn based combat. The story follows Emma and Koo through a harsh world, making it one of the more unusual Game Pass additions currently confirmed for the month.
| Game | Platforms | Game Pass date | Genre or focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beast of Reincarnation | Xbox Series X | S, PC, Cloud | August 4 |
| Monsters Are Coming! | Xbox Series X | S | August 6 |
| Sandustry | PC | August 13 | Factory automation |
| Grave Seasons | Xbox Series X | S, PC, Cloud | August 14 |
| Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy | Xbox Series X | S, PC, Cloud | August 27 |
Monsters Are Coming! follows on August 6 for Xbox Series X|S. It is a tower survivor roguelite where players protect a moving city from waves of enemies. The loop focuses on gathering resources, strengthening defenses, and trying to survive long enough to reach the Ark.
Sandustry arrives for PC on August 13 and looks aimed at players who enjoy production chains and automation. The game features destructible worlds where every pixel is treated as a resource, with mining, factory building, and ancient secrets forming the core of the experience.

Grave Seasons launches on August 14 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Cloud. It takes the farming sim structure and adds a darker mystery, with players farming, building relationships, and investigating a supernatural serial killer in the town of Ashenridge. That twist could help it stand out among the many cozy and farming inspired games currently on the market.
The final confirmed August title so far is Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, which arrives on August 27 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Cloud. It is an original prequel story set in the A Plague Tale universe. Players take on the role of Sophia and travel to the Minotaur’s Island, where they will face deadly enemies, ancient secrets, and a mythical creature linked to a devastating curse.
Resonance is likely to attract the most attention from players who enjoyed A Plague Tale: Innocence and A Plague Tale: Requiem. The series has built its reputation on strong atmosphere, character driven storytelling, stealth, and tense survival elements, so a prequel focused on Sophia gives the franchise room to expand without simply repeating Amicia and Hugo’s story.
Beast of Reincarnation may be the other big wildcard. Game Freak is best known for Pokémon, but this project appears to be a separate action RPG with a more experimental structure. Its Game Pass launch gives subscribers a low risk way to try it at release.
The August lineup is still early, so it should not be treated as the full month. Microsoft usually confirms more Game Pass titles closer to each wave, and the first half of August may gain additional console, PC, and cloud releases. Even so, the current list already has enough variety to make the month worth watching.
