Microsoft has confirmed the next batch of games leaving Xbox Game Pass, and this late May list includes two major Atlus RPGs. All five games are marked as “leaving soon” in the official Xbox mobile app and are scheduled to leave the service on May 31.
The biggest loss is Metaphor: ReFantazio, one of Atlus’ most praised RPGs in recent years. Persona 4 Golden is also leaving on the same day, making this a rough update for JRPG fans who rely on Game Pass.
| Game | Leaving date | Platforms |
|---|---|---|
| Against the Storm | May 31 | Console, PC, Cloud |
| Crypt Custodian | May 31 | Console, PC, Cloud |
| Metaphor: ReFantazio | May 31 | Console, PC, Cloud |
| Persona 4 Golden | May 31 | Console, PC, Cloud |
| Spray Paint Simulator | May 31 | Console, PC, Cloud |
Metaphor: ReFantazio is the title many players will notice first. It is a large role playing game, so anyone starting now may need to prioritize it quickly or consider buying it before it leaves. Persona 4 Golden is also a long game, which makes its departure harder for players who prefer to take their time.
Crypt Custodian may be easier to finish before the deadline. It is a smaller action adventure and metroidvania style game, and some players in the community are already recommending it as the one to prioritize before it disappears.
Against the Storm is another notable exit. It is a strategy and city building game with roguelite elements, which means it can be played in shorter sessions, but it can also absorb a lot of time if it clicks with you. Spray Paint Simulator rounds out the list as a lighter sim option.

Microsoft usually gives Game Pass subscribers a discount before games leave the library, and these titles should have at least 20 percent off until May 31. Some may receive bigger discounts if they are included in wider Microsoft Store sales.
This is one of those Game Pass removal lists where the timing matters. Shorter games like Crypt Custodian are easier to finish before the deadline, while Metaphor and Persona 4 Golden are better treated as buy now or play later titles if you are not already deep into them.
The good news is that more games are still coming to Xbox Game Pass in May, with more announcements expected. Still, losing Metaphor: ReFantazio and Persona 4 Golden at the same time makes this one of the more painful late month removals for RPG fans.
