Epic Games Store’s mystery giveaway promotion has returned for the 2026 Mega Sale, and the first reveal is a double freebie.
PC players can now claim Telltale Batman Shadows Edition and Sunderfolk for free. Both games are available until May 21, after which Epic will replace them with another mystery giveaway.
Telltale Batman Shadows Edition is the bigger package here because it includes two full games: Batman: The Telltale Series from 2016 and Batman: The Enemy Within from 2017. That means you get all ten episodes from Telltale’s Batman story.
The Shadows Edition also adds Shadows Mode, a high contrast black and white visual style inspired by noir films. It gives the games a darker, comic book like look that fits Gotham well.
| Free Epic Games Store game | What you get |
|---|---|
| Telltale Batman Shadows Edition | Batman: The Telltale Series and Batman: The Enemy Within |
| Sunderfolk | 1 to 4 player tactical RPG with online and local co op |
| Claim deadline | May 21 |
| Next giveaway | Mystery game after this promotion ends |
The Telltale Batman games focus on Bruce Wayne and his life as both a billionaire and the Caped Crusader. As usual with Telltale’s style, choices matter. Players decide how Bruce responds to allies, enemies, political pressure, crime, and the darker side of Gotham.
The story also gives familiar Batman characters different twists, so your choices can shape who becomes a friend, who becomes a threat, and how Bruce’s relationships change.

Sunderfolk is a very different kind of freebie. It is a cooperative tactical RPG for 1 to 4 players, built around the feeling of tabletop game night without all the setup. Players can team up online or locally, and friends can join using their phones.
That makes it useful for couch co op groups or online parties that want something more strategic but still easy to start. The game focuses on missions, teamwork, planning, and shared decision making.
This is a strong start for Epic’s Mega Sale mystery giveaway period. Telltale Batman Shadows Edition gives solo players a full story driven package, while Sunderfolk gives groups a co op option.
Both games are free to claim on the Epic Games Store until May 21. Once claimed, they stay in your library.
