Enshrouded 1.0 Launches October 15 on PC and PS5, While Xbox Version Moves to Spring 2027

Enshrouded will leave Early Access on October 15, 2026, when version 1.0 launches for PC and PlayStation 5. The survival action RPG will also support PlayStation 5 Pro, but Xbox Series X and Series S players will need to wait longer. Developer Keen Games has delayed the Xbox version until spring 2027 to allow more time for performance and quality work.

The studio said it had hoped to launch the full game across all planned platforms at the same time. However, Enshrouded’s large voxel based building systems, destructible and editable environments, multiplayer features, and open world design created additional technical challenges on Xbox hardware.

Keen Games says development is continuing steadily and that it does not want to release the Xbox version before it meets the studio’s expected standards. More information about version 1.0 is expected during the summer.

Enshrouded Has Grown Considerably Since Its Early Access Debut

Enshrouded entered Steam Early Access in January 2024 and quickly attracted attention for combining survival systems, action RPG combat, open world exploration, and extensive building tools.

The game reached more than one million sales in its first four days. Its audience continued to grow over the following years, passing three million copies by August 2024, four million by April 2025, and five million in early 2026.

Much of that growth has come from Keen Games continuing to expand the game while it was still in development. New areas, combat changes, multiplayer improvements, and sandbox features have made Embervale far larger and more flexible than it was at launch.

New Regions and Systems Have Changed the World of Embervale

Several major updates have added new places to explore. Players can now travel through the vertical Blackmire swamp, the frozen Albaneve Summits, and the cliff heavy Veilwater Basin. Keen Games has also added Hollow Halls, large dungeon areas designed around combat and exploration.

The studio has expanded the game’s building and survival systems as well. Water can now flow through player made rivers and lakes, giving construction projects more life and allowing more detailed environmental designs. Fishing, animal taming, livestock breeding, and community map sharing have also been added.

These updates helped Enshrouded move beyond its original survival framework. You can build large bases, shape land, explore dungeons, collect gear, or join multiplayer worlds with more freedom than the early version offered.

Combat and Multiplayer Have Received Important Improvements

Combat has also changed throughout Early Access. New dual wield dagger options, reworked greatswords, and a Focus system for stronger attacks have expanded how different character builds can play. Gear can now be reinforced with customisable attribute runes, while enemy stealth behaviour has been improved.

Cooperative play has received attention too. Individual quest progression means players can advance their own objectives more easily when joining friends, rather than depending entirely on shared progress. New password controls also help server owners protect their worlds and large builds.

Keen Games has not yet detailed every feature coming with version 1.0, but the October release will mark an important step for Enshrouded. PC and PlayStation players will get the finished version first, while Xbox players will have to wait a few more months for a release designed to meet the same quality target.
