Hi! If everything is maxed out in the software it wouldn’t hurt to check if the physical gain knob is turned up (id there is one on your device). It may also be a hardware issue, like a broken microphpne or cable.
You asked in your article what I am using my mic for on the computer. I am using it to sing karaoke online. I just has a genius of a friend build me a new computer. It has much more RAM and storage as my very old computer. I also got the Focusrite Scarlett i5i external sound card. I have been having so much trouble trying to get my voice to come up. I almost sound like I’m whispering when I’m singing. The mixer on the site allows me to raise my vocals while lowering the music AFTER the song has been recorded. The volumes go from 0 to 10. I have been finding that I have to mix the recording with me all the way up to 10 and the music to about a 2! While I am recording, my mic volumes are up as high as they will go on the Scarlett’s software settings and I have my mic, as your example, moved on the slider. Mine is up to 100%! When I do the mic test, the result is in mono and right beside the button to press to start the test, it shows a very low number. Last night it was at 17%. The mic was working. It’s must been within the last week or so I have had this issue. My Scarlett interface on the front of the box indicates that when I’m recording, it should be so loud that it’s clipping, but it’s not. Any ideas?
