ASUS has revealed a custom ROG Xbox Ally X Cyberpunk 2077 Edition, and it looks far more striking than the standard handheld. The device was created in collaboration with AK Studio and turns the black ROG Xbox Ally X into a bright Night City inspired machine.
This is not a normal retail model. It is a one off custom case mod, so ASUS is not planning to sell it for now. Still, the design shows how much room there is for special edition handheld gaming PCs if companies decide to take the idea seriously.
The custom shell uses Cyberpunk 2077’s familiar yellow color, along with weathered detailing, bold typography, and worn industrial styling. The result looks closer to something that belongs inside the world of Cyberpunk than a simple sticker or limited edition paint job.
The back of the device appears to be the strongest part of the design because it gives the artwork more space to breathe. The weathered finish, sharp contrast, and custom markings make the handheld look more like a proper collector item than a basic themed accessory.

Inside, this custom edition uses the same hardware as the regular ROG Xbox Ally X. That means it keeps the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, 80Wh battery, 1TB SSD, and 24GB of LPDDR5X 7500 RAM. ASUS did not change the controls, grips, internals, or performance setup.

That makes this more of a design showcase than a new product. The standard ROG Xbox Ally X is already built for modern handheld PC gaming, and the Cyberpunk 2077 version simply gives it a much louder identity.
The timing makes sense. Handheld gaming PCs are becoming more common, and companies are trying to make them feel less like generic Windows devices and more like gaming hardware with personality. A Cyberpunk 2077 themed handheld fits that trend well because the game already has a strong visual identity.
It also gives ASUS a way to test interest in game based designs. If people respond strongly to this one off model, it could encourage ASUS to make more themed handhelds in the future. Limited edition designs have worked for consoles, controllers, laptops, and GPUs, so handheld PCs could easily follow the same path.
For now, this Cyberpunk 2077 ROG Xbox Ally X is mainly a showcase piece. You cannot buy it, and it does not bring new performance features. But it proves that handheld PCs can be more visually ambitious, and it may make fans wish ASUS would turn some of these custom builds into real limited edition products.
