ASUS has pushed NVIDIA’s RTX 5090 to new limits, setting three world records in 3DMark benchmarks using its ROG Astral variant. The results are impressive—not just for the scores, but for how far the hardware was pushed.
The headline: over 50,000 points in Port Royal
The biggest milestone is a 50,060 score in 3DMark Port Royal, breaking past the 50K barrier. Alongside that, two more records were set:

Extreme cooling makes it possible
This was not a standard setup. The GPU was:
- Disassembled
- Fitted with a liquid nitrogen (LN2) cooling system
- Paired with custom cooling for VRMs
LN2 cooling allows hardware to run at extremely low temperatures, which reduces electrical resistance and enables much higher clock speeds.
Surprisingly done with a single 16-pin connector
One of the more interesting details is power delivery.
Despite the extreme overclock:

- That typically supports around 600W of power
