ASUS lists ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 at $5,499, making it its priciest US RTX 5090

ASUS has listed the ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 on its official US store for $5,499.99, confirming that the special edition card will be one of the most expensive consumer RTX 5090 models from the company. The card was created for ROG’s 20th anniversary celebration and had already appeared through a European retailer at a much higher converted price, but the US listing now gives a clearer view of ASUS’s official pricing.

The price is still extremely high, even by RTX 5090 standards. ASUS’s own ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 is listed at $3,999, while the ROG Astral LC RTX 5090 OC is listed at $4,529.99. The ROG Astral RTX 5090 BTF OC Edition is also below it at $4,429.99. That makes the Edition 20 the most expensive RTX 5090 listed by ASUS in the US, excluding region specific releases such as the RTX 5090 Dhahab for the Middle East.

The card is not currently available to buy, and limited edition GPUs often sell out quickly when they appear in stock. Availability may be tight, especially because special ROG models are usually produced in smaller quantities than standard cards.

The Edition 20 shows how far premium RTX 5090 pricing has moved

The official $5,499.99 price is lower than the earlier European listing, which worked out to more than $7,000 after conversion. That difference is not surprising because European hardware prices often include VAT and other regional costs. Still, even the US price puts the card far beyond NVIDIA’s Founders Edition pricing.

At this level, the ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 is not aimed at most gaming PC buyers. It is a collector focused product for people who want a rare ASUS design, a premium cooler, and ROG anniversary branding. For pure performance value, it will be difficult to justify when other RTX 5090 models exist at lower prices.

ASUS RTX 5090 modelOfficial or listed price
ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20$5,499.99
ROG Astral LC RTX 5090 OC$4,529.99
ROG Astral RTX 5090 BTF OC Edition$4,429.99
ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090$3,999
ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 on NeweggAround $10,999

The wider RTX 5090 market also helps explain why this price does not feel completely unexpected. NVIDIA’s flagship gaming GPU has been affected by high demand, expensive GDDR7 memory, and limited supply. Many custom RTX 5090 cards are already selling well above normal flagship GPU prices at major retailers.

The Newegg listing for the ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 is a good example of how distorted retail pricing can become. That card has appeared at around $10,999, more than twice its official ASUS price. If the ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 reaches third party retailers, it may also appear at a higher price than ASUS’s own listing.

For buyers, the practical advice is simple. The Edition 20 is a prestige card, not a sensible value pick. It may interest collectors, high end system builders, and ROG fans, but most gamers would be better served by a cheaper RTX 5090 or even a lower tier GPU, depending on their needs.

ASUS has now made the card’s position clear. The ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 is a premium anniversary model with a premium price to match. Its official $5,499.99 tag makes it ASUS’s most expensive US listed RTX 5090, and limited stock could make the real market price even higher once it becomes available.
