ASRock’s new fanless iBOX mini PCs bring Panther Lake to silent industrial systems

ASRock Industrial has updated its fanless iBOX mini PC lineup with Intel’s new Panther Lake H processors, giving businesses a compact silent system for embedded, industrial, and edge computing use. The new models are the iBOX 358H and iBOX 325, and both use larger passive aluminum chassis designs instead of traditional cooling fans.

This is different from ASRock’s earlier NUC Ultra 300 BOX series. That lineup used a fanned embedded chassis, while the iBOX series is built around passive cooling. The case has cooling fins across the top and sides, allowing the system to dissipate heat without moving parts.

That makes the new iBOX models better suited for places where noise, dust, maintenance, or reliability matter. Fanless mini PCs are often used in factories, kiosks, digital signage, automation systems, edge devices, control rooms, and other environments where a normal desktop may not be practical.

The iBOX 358H is the stronger Panther Lake model

The higher end model is the iBOX 358H, which uses Intel’s Core Ultra X7 358H processor. It has 4 Performance cores, 8 Efficient cores, and 4 Low Power Efficient cores. The lower model, iBOX 325, uses a Core Ultra 5 325 with 4 Performance cores and 4 Low Power Efficient cores.

Both models support up to 128GB of memory through two SO DIMM slots. Storage is also strong for a passive mini PC, with one M.2 2242 PCIe Gen4 x4 slot and one M.2 2242 or 2280 PCIe Gen5 x4 slot. That gives system builders room for fast storage while keeping the machine small and sealed.

The port selection is one of the more useful parts of the design. On the front, ASRock includes one USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 port with DisplayPort 2.1 output, one USB C 20Gbps port with DisplayPort 1.4a output, one USB A 10Gbps port, two USB 2.0 ports, audio, and one COM port. On the rear, there are two HDMI 2.1 ports, two USB A 10Gbps ports, and two 2.5GbE LAN ports.

That makes the system flexible for industrial and commercial setups. Dual 2.5GbE is useful for networking, edge devices, local servers, and systems that need separate network paths. Multiple display outputs also make it suitable for signage or monitoring stations.

The chassis measures 200 by 176.6 by 53.6 mm and weighs 3 kg. That is heavier than many consumer mini PCs, but the weight makes sense because the aluminum body is part of the cooling system. ASRock also lists VESA mounting, wall mounting, and DIN rail support, which are important for industrial installation.

Wireless support is optional through an M.2 Key E 2230 slot, so Wi Fi is not built in by default. That is not unusual for industrial systems because many deployments rely on wired networking or need specific wireless modules.

ASRock has not announced pricing yet, and the iBOX 358H page is still listed as preliminary. Availability also appears to be handled through direct inquiry, which suggests these systems are aimed more at business and industrial customers than regular retail buyers.

For everyday PC buyers, this may not be the most exciting Panther Lake product. But for companies that need silent, durable, compact machines with strong I/O and modern Intel processors, the new iBOX models could be very useful. ASRock is not chasing gaming here. It is building small, quiet Panther Lake systems for places where reliability and installation flexibility matter more than flashy design.
