ARC Raiders passes 16 million sales as Embark starts work on two new games

ARC Raiders has become a huge success for Nexon and Embark Studios.

According to Nexon’s Q1 2026 earnings report, ARC Raiders has now sold more than 16 million copies in around six and a half months. The extraction shooter sold 4.6 million units in Q1 2026 alone, reached 15.5 million by the end of the quarter, and has since crossed 16 million.

That makes ARC Raiders the most successful new product launch in Nexon’s history.

The game also continues to show strong engagement. Nexon says ARC Raiders has passed 1.5 billion total hours played, and more than half of its active players have spent over 100 hours in the game.

Nexon Q1 revenue growth from new releasesUp 188 percent year over year

ARC Raiders helped drive Nexon’s horizontal revenue growth to 59.3 billion yen, or about $409 million, in Q1 2026. That is up 188 percent year over year, with ARC Raiders and other new releases leading the increase.

The China launch could be the next major step. Nexon has secured an ISBN for ARC Raiders in China, which is a required government approval for games to legally operate and make money in the country. That is a major hurdle because approvals can take months or even years, especially for foreign games.

Tencent will publish ARC Raiders in China, and multiple closed beta tests are planned for 2026.

The update comes shortly after Embark confirmed a major change to ARC Raiders’ content schedule. Instead of monthly updates, the studio is moving to two larger updates per year. The next major update, Frozen Trail, is planned for October and is described as the biggest update since launch.

Frozen Trail will include a large amount of free content, including a new map. Paid content such as outfits and personalization items will also be part of the update.

Nexon also confirmed that Embark is already working on two new games. Both are still in early development, so they are likely years away from release. Still, it shows that Nexon has enough confidence in Embark after ARC Raiders and The Finals to let the studio expand its pipeline.

The Finals also performed well, with Q1 year over year growth of 47 percent, helped by Season 9.

Nexon’s wider lineup includes Mabinogi Mobile, Azur Promilia, Dungeon and Fighter projects, Vindictus: Defying Fate, Nakwon: Last Paradise, Woochi the Wayfarer, Project RX, and several other games.

But ARC Raiders is clearly the standout right now. Selling more than 16 million copies in six months is rare for a new IP, especially in the extraction shooter space. The challenge now is keeping that audience active through the slower update cadence and making the October Frozen Trail update feel worth the wait.

For Embark, this is a major turning point. ARC Raiders is no longer just a successful launch. It is now Nexon’s biggest new product ever, a China expansion candidate, and the foundation for Embark’s next phase as a multi game studio.
