AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE Drops to $479 as Other GPU Prices Continue to Rise

AMD's Radeon RX 9070 GRE has fallen to $479 at Micro Center, giving PC builders a cheaper option at a time when several newer graphics cards are becoming more expensive.

The discounted model is the XFX Radeon RX 9070 GRE Triple Fan, which normally sells for $549. The $70 reduction takes it to its lowest reported price since launch and places it close to the cost of several slower graphics cards.

There is one important limitation. The $479 offer is available for local store pickup rather than online delivery, so availability will depend on nearby Micro Center inventory.

A second RX 9070 GRE deal is also available through another retailer. The Gigabyte Gaming Radeon RX 9070 GRE OC is listed at $534, with an additional $35 discount reducing the effective price to $499.

The lower pricing stands out because the wider graphics card market is moving in the opposite direction.

Recent price increases have affected both AMD Radeon RX 9000 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series cards. Some models have reportedly climbed sharply, with certain graphics cards seeing increases approaching 40 percent.

AMD's Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT have also become more expensive in some stores, with prices reportedly rising by around 20 to 30 percent in certain cases. Against that background, the RX 9070 GRE staying near its original $549 price was already unusual. A drop below $500 makes it much more competitive.

The RX 9070 GRE looks stronger below $500

The Radeon RX 9070 GRE originally arrived in China before expanding to more markets in June 2026. Its initial reception was mixed because AMD equipped it with fewer compute units and less video memory than the standard Radeon RX 9070 while setting the launch price at $549.

Those compromises are easier to accept at $479 or $499.

At these prices, the card can compete directly with products such as the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB, while some GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB models are now selling above $500.

That gives the RX 9070 GRE a more favorable position for buyers who care primarily about gaming performance per dollar and are comfortable with its reduced specifications compared with the full RX 9070.

The current discounts also show how uneven GPU pricing has become. Broader memory supply pressure is pushing the price of many graphics cards higher, but individual models can still fall below their original launch prices when retailers adjust inventory or run temporary promotions.

The $479 XFX model is the stronger value of the two current offers, assuming you have access to a participating store. The $499 Gigabyte card costs slightly more but is easier to buy because it is available online.

Neither price is guaranteed to remain available, especially while component and graphics card costs remain volatile. For anyone already considering an RX 9070 GRE, however, dropping below $500 changes the value equation considerably compared with its original $549 launch price.
