Amazon Prime members can claim 15 games presented as Steam Deck friendly at the time of writing, and not one of them is a Steam key. Every claim page on Amazon’s site redeems on GOG, the Epic Games Store, the Amazon Games app or the Microsoft Store.
That detail matters more than the badges in the headline. A Steam Deck Verified or Playable rating describes the Steam release of a game, not the copy Amazon is handing out.
Digital Citizen opened all 15 claim pages on September 22, 2026. Each returned an HTTP 200 response with a matching page title, which confirms the offers are live.
Amazon uses two names for the service in the same markup. The page titles read Amazon Luna, while the logo embedded in those pages carries an aria-label of “Prime Gaming logo”.
Why the Steam Deck badge does not describe the free copy
The ratings below come from Valve’s own store data, read from the hardware compatibility block on each live Steam page. Eight of the 15 are Verified, six are Playable and one is Unsupported.
Valve tests and certifies the Steam build. Since none of these 15 are Steam copies, the rating is a proxy rather than a certification of the file a claimer receives.
In most cases it is the same game and the same engine, so the proxy is a reasonable one. It is still not the tested build behind the 30,000 Verified and Playable titles Valve counts on Steam.
Valve’s ratings normally travel with a Steam purchase, the way Planet Zoo 2 earned Verified status before launch.

Steam list prices for the set add up to $342.85. That figure is Digital Citizen’s own calculation, not a number Amazon publishes.
DOOM + DOOM II carries the smallest Steam list price at $9.99. Amazon’s listing for it describes nine included items, among them Sigil, Sigil II and Legacy of Rust, plus 187 mission maps and 43 deathmatch maps.
Three claims are reported to close on September 23, 2026
Space Grunts: Chrono Shard, In Sound Mind and Spray Paint Simulator are all reported to end on September 23, 2026. Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is reported to end on September 30, 2026.
Every end date in the table is reported rather than confirmed. Amazon’s claim pages returned a “We’re having technical difficulties” fallback on every automated fetch attempted, so the deadline copy could not be read.
A reader who hits that same error message on Amazon’s page is not necessarily looking at a fault on their end.
What a Steam Deck owner actually has to do
None of these games install from the Steam library. Claiming one means leaving Game Mode, switching the Deck to Desktop Mode and installing a third-party launcher.
Heroic Games Launcher is the common route for GOG, Epic and Amazon Games titles, which covers 14 of the 15. That setup comes before any Verified badge in the table means anything on the handheld.
DOOM Eternal is the hardest of the set. It is the lone Microsoft Store claim, and Microsoft Store titles have no equivalent easy path on Deck. That gap is why projects aimed at bringing Game Pass PC titles to Deck and Linux exist at all.
RiMS Racing is the one title Valve rates Unsupported. It has been reported to run acceptably after tweaks, but that claim traces to community compatibility reports on a third-party tracking site, not to Valve or to publisher Nacon.
What Amazon has not confirmed
The $342.85 total is a sum of Steam list prices, and Steam pricing is only a stand-in here. The games redeem elsewhere, and GOG, Epic, Amazon Games and Microsoft Store prices were not checked.
Several of those Steam prices are discounted at the time of writing, including War Hospital at $1.49 against a $29.99 list. Such value claims move quickly, as recent Steam Deck friendly bundle pricing has shown.
Amazon has published no deadline text that could be read, no total value figure and no per-storefront guidance for Deck owners. The live check above proves each claim page exists on September 22, 2026, not that any individual claim will go through.
