Alienware AW2527HX Brings 560Hz QD OLED Speed to Competitive Gaming

Alienware has introduced the AW2527HX, a 24.5 inch gaming monitor built for competitive esports with a 560Hz refresh rate and a QD OLED panel.

The monitor combines very high refresh rates with the response time and image quality advantages of OLED. That gives competitive players another option beyond traditional TN esports monitors, which are often chosen for speed but usually offer weaker color and contrast.

The AW2527HX uses a 1080p QD OLED Penta Tandem panel with a rated gray to gray response time of 0.03ms. Alienware says 560Hz is the fastest refresh rate it has offered on one of its monitors.

OLED Gives the Monitor More Than Raw Speed

Competitive monitors have traditionally relied on TN panels because they can reach very high refresh rates and low response times.

The AW2527HX takes a different approach by using QD OLED.

Its 0.03ms response time should help reduce visible ghosting and motion blur during fast movement, while the 560Hz refresh rate allows the display to update up to 560 times per second when the system can deliver enough frames.

The OLED panel also provides much deeper blacks and stronger contrast than a conventional TN screen.

Color coverage reaches 99 percent of the DCI P3 space, while Alienware rates color accuracy at Delta E below 2. The monitor also carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification.

That makes it more versatile than a typical esports focused display, particularly if you also play visually demanding single player games or work with content where stronger color reproduction is useful.

RGB Stripe Technology Targets Better Text Clarity

Alienware is also using RGB Stripe technology in the panel.

Text clarity has been a weakness on some earlier OLED monitors because of their subpixel layouts. The new design is intended to improve how text and fine interface elements are rendered.

That could make the AW2527HX more comfortable for general desktop use when you are not gaming.

Alienware is also using software based protection designed to reduce OLED burn in risk. The monitor will include a three year burn in warranty, which should provide additional reassurance for buyers concerned about static interface elements.

The screen uses a matte coating to reduce reflections.

Team Liquid Helped Shape the Physical Design

The monitor was developed with input from Team Liquid, and several physical details are aimed directly at competitive players.

Its telescopic stand offers up to 155mm of height adjustment. That is considerably more than the 110mm adjustment range common on many gaming monitors.

Height markers are included so you can recreate the same monitor position after moving the display or setting it up at another location.

The base is relatively compact and can rotate, helping create more desk space for large mouse movements.

The display can also tilt by as much as 45 degrees.

Alienware has added a headset hanger on the rear, along with a dedicated esports button that allows quick switching between 4:3 and 3:2 aspect ratios.

NVIDIA G Sync compatibility is included to help reduce tearing when frame rates vary.

The monitor also supports DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR 13.5 bandwidth.

Alienware has not announced a final price yet. Similar 500Hz OLED monitors often cost between roughly $700 and $900, although direct comparisons are difficult because many competing models use larger 27 inch panels and higher resolutions.

The AW2527HX is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2027. Its final value will depend heavily on pricing, but the combination of 560Hz refresh, OLED response times, stronger color, improved text clarity, and an esports focused stand gives it a notably different position from traditional high refresh TN monitors.
