    Win+X, M (just 2 keystrokes).
A derivative of one of your methods above.
I need this, the fastest way of getting Device Manager open, because I use USB-Serial adapters a lot, and I need to know which COM port the serial port has been mounted to.

  • Ron says:

right click “My computer”, click Properties, click device manager

Windows + Pause/Break then click Device Manager – nice and quick 🙂

I get to the Device Manager in Win 7 as follows:
    – left-click the Start button
    – right-click “Computer” on the right side of the menu (above “Control Panel” and “Devices and Printers”)
    – left-click “Properties” at the bottom of the pop-up menu
    – left-click on “Device Manager” at the top left of the resulting window
I like this method because there’s nothing to type, just four mouse clicks, and it’s a bit faster than going “Control Panel” -> “System”, but I think that Device Manager shortcut mentioned above will be the fastest method by far.
