Thank you for this helpful post, please can you maybe explain why I seem to have 3 all the same networks on my 2.4 and 3 on my 5 GHz. I renamed them as I am having trouble reconnecting my devices to the new router so I renamed them to opt for the 2.4 GHz as some of the devices won’t work on 5GHz. Thank you

Netspot requires the purchase of a $650+ usb-wifi attachment. Not Free!
Not sure what you’re talking about. I use this app for free to this day, both on mobile and my laptop. No equipment required, only a basic Wi-Fi chip on your device.
