It is one of those really great apps!

I have been using it for quite a while and it does every thing you want such a program to do.

Ciprian, another posting that would be very beneficial is how to export and import all the Lastpass info in case it becomes corrupted.

Thanks for all the wonderful postings.

Thanks Brian. Very good suggestions.

Very good measures to protect your online accounts. I am following these instructions already to some extent.

most imp point I would like to highlight again : DONT use same password everywhere

Brian

Ciprian,

Thanks for making that link available.
That really makes it very clear how to do the backup.

For anyone who has not tried Lastpass I would urge you to give
it a try; it makes password management as easy as it should be.

Thanks again Ciprian.

Usually I don’t add comments, but finally I can’t resist say:
THANK YOU VERY MUCH, BRIAN,
for all your suggestions, which are really very fit for use, comprehensible, good and interesting.
Have a nice day!

What happens when LastPass gets hacked?

Ciprian Adrian Rusen

It depends on what information gets stolen. I cannot give you a good answer. It is best to ask the LastPass team directly.

Jon

It was more of a rhetorical question, really.

Amber

The key is that LastPass does not have access to your master password, which forms your unique encryption key for your account. All data is encrypted and decrypted locally with that encryption key, and your sensitive data is only synced with LastPass in an encrypted form. Without the master password, we can’t decrypt it, so neither could anyone who in theory would “hack” LastPass – and then brute-forcing the data would be unfeasible given the encryption, hashing, salting of hashes, and other measures put in place.

We’re happy to address any further questions or comments directly at LastPass.com/supportticket.php

Thanks for the explanation Amber – makes sense now 🙂
