Hi,
When I do a “search” (using CTRL – F) in this version of Notepad, it finds the item correctly, but as soon as I click “x” on the search/find box, the cursor moves to a totally different place in my Notepad file (this particular note file is very long, so it’s a real pain for me). I have to remember not to click “x” and instead move the cursor to the item, once it’s found, and do what I want to do with it. But I often forget this.
Thanks,
Eva

“Another intuitive way to launch Notepad is to simply double-click or double-tap on any text document bearing the standard .txt file extension. Unless you’ve previously changed file associations, this action should trigger the launch of Notepad and automatically load that file.”
This is not correct. You can open .txt file in Notepad with Windows 11. But it is not possible to set .txt file association. If you try you get the message “The program you have selected cannot be associated with this file type. Please choose another program.”

This error you’re encountering is weird. On most computers, our instructions work as stated in the article.
How about a directory of what all is in there? I enter stuff, forget my doc name and then cant find it.
