I am frustrated to identify which Microsoft account was set to link with my Skype ID. I did NOT do this but Skype Account Page says account is “linked” but NO INFO on WHAT account it was linked with.

Also password reset page did not show mysterious Microsoft account which Microsoft claims.

I am really furious with Microsoft because of causing such mess.

How do we clearly see WHICH Microsoft account is linked with our Skype IDs?
(Skype Account page does not tell this)

I had the same problem and solved it by deleting the skype part of my microsoft account and then logging in again using the same microsoft account. The message was back.

You can delete the skype part of your microsoft account by logging into your microsoft account and going to account settings and press the “unlink” button. The site then asks if you are sure etc. etc. If you have done that, and sign in with you microsoft details it’ll ask you in you want to link your skype account.

Skype suddenly logged me off on my MacBook (v7.9 under Yosemite 10.10.4) and now I can not log in. For good measure I have created a Microsoft account (against my better judgement) and though the password for it is accepted and it is linked with my Skype account I still can not log in.

I have changed my password but apparently that applies now to Microsoft account. Yet on log on I am asked for Skype password.

I have been a long term user of Skype on many devices and have not had any issues of this kind until now.

Incidentally, I can not log on Skype on my new iPhone 5C either.

Please let me know what I can do. If this persist I will stop using Skype as it is just too much hassle.

I am running nuts! I guess I did not pay attention in the first instance – I was on skype from another device running out of battery – and I connected with Microsoft account instead of Skype. Now I can never access this first screen you describe. I am logged with a Microsoft account – empty – and when I log out, it only suggests to log in with the same MS acount again. Skype help is useless. I am angry: why do they coplmicate our lives?

Thanks for this – too bad it does not work for me as I don’t get “Already using Skype?” – un- and restalled, have tried via de windows app and via skype website – have also found other users reporting this issue with no solution

I don’t want to link my Skype account to a Microsoft account…I don’t HAVE a Microsoft account and I DON’T WANT ONE.
If MS continues to insist on this I will just uninstall Skype and download a competitor’s app. I know A LOT of people that feel the same way. What ever happened to the monopoly charges MS was facing? Isn’t this the start of the same thing AGAIN?!
