The Settings are a vital part of your Android experience. They contain everything you need in order to set up and personalize your smartphone according to your preferences. While accessing the Android Settings can be quite intuitive, you might encounter some issues, especially on a new smartphone, with an unfamiliar version of Android. Read this tutorial to learn how to get to the Android Settings menu:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nNOTE: For this tutorial, we used an ASUS ZenFone Max Pro device running Android 9 Pie. The procedures are similar on all Android-powered devices, so you should be good to go even if you have a smartphone from Samsung, Huawei, Nokia, or some other manufacturer. Open the Android Settings from the All Apps screen\r\nIf you are using a new Android smartphone, the All Apps screen is a surefire way to get to the Settings app. On your Home screen, swipe up or tap on the All apps button, which is available on most Android smartphones, to access the All Apps screen.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSwiping up from the Home screen opens All Apps\r\n\r\nOnce you\\'re on the All Apps screen, find the Settings app and tap on it. Its icon looks like a cogwheel. This opens the Android Settings menu.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nTap on the Settings app to open it\r\n\r\nTIP: If you can\\'t find the Settings, you can also type the word \\"settings\\" in the search field displayed at the top of the All Apps screen.\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Open the Android Settings from its Home screen shortcut\r\nIf you need to access the Android Settings often, you can create a shortcut on your smartphone\\'s Home screen. Swipe up or tap on the All apps button, and find the Settings app. If you tap and hold on it, and then move your finger, you can drag it to an empty space on your Home screen.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nDrag and drop the icon to create a Home screen shortcut\r\n\r\nLift your finger off the screen to drop the shortcut anywhere you want it on your Home screen.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe shortcut is placed on your Home screen\r\n\r\nYou can now open the Android Settings menu directly from your Home screen, by tapping on its shortcut.\r\n\r\nTIP: To learn more about customizing your Android Home screen, read 7 ways to personalize the home screen of your Android smartphone or tablet.\r\n3. Open the Android Settings from the Favorites bar\r\nOn your Android smartphone, the Favorites bar is displayed at the bottom of the screen, and you can place your favorite apps in it. They are then shown on all the pages of your Home screen. To have the Android Settings even more handy, you can add it to your Favorites.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFirst, swipe up or tap on the All apps button. Then, tap and hold on the Settings app. Move your finger to drag it either to an empty spot or a folder in your Favorites bar.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nDrag and drop the Settings icon on an empty spot in the Favorites bar\r\n\r\nThe shortcut is added, and you can now use it to access the Android Settings menu.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nUse the icon in your favorite apps to get to the app\r\n\r\n4. Open the Android Settings from the Quick Settings\r\nYou can find a shortcut for the Settings app in the Quick Settings menu. To open the Quick Settings, swipe down from the top side of the screen.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSwipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings\r\n\r\nDepending on your smartphone and on the screen you are swiping from, this action opens either the compact or the expanded view of the Quick Settings. On some smartphones, the compact view displays a cogwheel icon that you can use to get to the Android Settings menu.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe cogwheel icon in Android\\'s compact Quick Settings\r\n\r\nIf you cannot find the Settings icon there, swipe down again to access the expanded Quick Settings menu. Open the Android Settings with the Google Assistant\r\nIf you like using the Google Assistant, first make sure it is listening by either saying \\"Ok, Google\\" or tapping on the microphone icon in the Search bar, on your Home screen.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nTap the microphone icon to activate the Google Assistant\r\n\r\nThen, say \\"settings\\" to open the Android Settings menu.\r\nWhich way to open the Android Settings do you like?\r\nWe access the Android Settings menu pretty often on our smartphone, so we decided to use the Favorites bar to get to it quicker.
