Thanks for the article but this is not working for me here in Toronto, Canada. Microsoft Word Online does not respect my language choices.
In the account settings I have chosen: “Languages
Display language
English (Canada)
Preferred languages
English (Canada)”
Whether in the app or in the M365 account settings, all my choices for region and language are set to CANADA. And yet Word shows errors for such spellings as “Colour” and “Centre” etc.
I suspect this is an error in the system related to the wide varieties of English one can select. The software is otherwise very good so it makes this very troubling.
No, it didn’t help. Even though the tabs come up in English (the language I want), the program still creates the notebooks in Hungarian, just because I am located in Hungary. I sett all my preferred languages to English, and I did what the site told me, still the text inside the ntebook is in Hungarian.
The language is appearing correct. But when i enter the formula; example =TEXT(A1,”ddd”) it is giving the result as ‘Sab’ which Malaysian language instead of ‘Sat’. please help
my hotmail account (outlook.com) was hacked today and the language was changed to an unknown foreign language. After going through a google list your process worked for me and was by far the simplest process to use. Thank you very much for submitting your process on google.
I am sharing a document in Word Online with people from different countries. Some of them are complaining that all the application menus are in Danish (my language) instead of their normal language. Apparently, the document carries my language setting for the menu over to people I share with. How do we change that?
This did not help at all…ever since I got this useless and frustrating one drive application the folders are in Dutch??? Although I study in the Netherlands, I do so in my native language. I cannot use this application and am considering removing it from my computer

In Excel and Word, I could only change the menus to another language after changing my One Drive language.
