The issue is the misuse of the English language. Don’t use the word disable if it doesn’t disable the application. If you want to state that it is impossible to disable but you can hide the icon then it would be an accurate statement. If I am searching how to disable something and a site says “4 ways to disable” I would expect there to be 4 ways to disable. I wouldn’t expect 4 ways to hide the icon.

Article: here are four ways to “uninstall”

None of the options uninstalled the application. Yes, I realize the word uninstall had quotes around it meaning that the solution does not uninstall it. At this point there are two important words being misused, disable and uninstall. Using a word or multiple words incorrectly will cause the audience to lose respect and/or confidence in the source of the information.

Don: “I didn’t ask how to hide the icon.”

Joe: “Exactly. It amazes me how many sites out there say “how to remove meet now” and only show you how to hide the icon. lol. Hello McFly, that does not remove it. If we can’t remove it, just say so up front.”

Question: How do I disable Microsoft Meet Now in Windows 10?
Answer: Unfortunately, you cannot remove it due to how Microsoft has it implemented.
Alternative options: However, you can hide the icon and here are the steps to hide it.

I read the question. I understood what the customer was asking. I showed the customer respect by clearly and concisely answering their question and then I went above and beyond by offering an alternative solution.

This feature is baked into Windows. You cannot remove it, because it is not an app separate from Windows. However, disabling its icon, means the feature is not active.

      • Scott says:

Disabling an icon does not mean a feature (application) is not active. It means the icon is no longer visible. There is a huge difference between an icon and an application.

        • Ciprian Adrian Rusen says:

I agree with you, but it is the maximum allowed by Microsoft. The feature is built into the operating system itself. So you can either use it, or hide its icons and ignore it, which means that it is not actively used and doing anything.

I didn’t ask how to hide the icon. How to remove Meet Now from the computer.

If you don’t know how, then give instructions on how to roll back the OS.

  • Brian J Baumgartner says:

Well, considering NONE of the methods in the guide remove Meet Now, the feedback request is pointless.

    • Ciprian Adrian Rusen says:

This feature is part of Windows, so all you can do is hide the icon. And this guide works. 🙂
