This guide assumed you have a mouse to install your mouse. I cannot select the “Pair” (shaded area looks like a piss poor 2D representstion of a button). I can select the larger area containing the dialog and “button” but that’s all. Why did Microsoft turn the OS I’ve been using for 25 years into a POS?

i have a logitech k810 keyboard and sony MDX1000 headphones. A few weeks ago the headphones failed to connect to my pc and today my keyboard also failed to connect. In both instances they had been working fine, I went away from the PC for a little while and when I came back and woke it from sleep they simply refused to work. As far as i am aware there had been no software updates between the times I last succesfully used the devices and when i returned to the PC – we’re talking a interval of no more than an hour or so.

I have read the manuals and followed all the advice about unintsalling and re-installing, how to pair, how to do this, that and the other via various trouble shooting websites and nothing seems to work.

the most frustrating thing is, when i go through the ‘add a new bluetooth device’ the PC immediately recognises them and they show up in the list. i hit connect and this is where it goes wrong and i just get ‘cannot connectt, please try again. i have tried moving them around to see if the ‘signal’ is better in various postions, but nothing makes any difference.

I have no idea what’s wrong and there seems to be no suitable advice anywhere online. any ideas?

(PS i should also add that both devices connect properly to another pc on the same desk and, until recently worked with both with no problems for over a year. The failure on one machine seems to have no effect on the success with the other and both are running the lastest version of Windows 10. I also recently bought some brand new Beoplay E8 headphones and have never managed to conenct them to the PC either. it seems to have developed a dislike of bluetooth and it culling things, but randomly!)

Maybe the Bluetooth chip on your PC is broken and it won’t work until repaired or replaced. For everything that you shared, that is the only conclusion I have. Or, before being 100% sure, I would make a clean reinstallation of Windows, and of all drivers. If it keeps not working, then your Bluetooth chip no longer works, and it is the source of all problems.

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense! it’s not the answer I wanted to hear, but it is probably true :-/

It is all about the process by that users can able to connect their Bluetooth devices with the mouse, keyboard, headset, speaker and any kind of peripheral devices as well. It will be really very helpful mostly for new users. You may take a suggestion from canon support number that will be useful to you.

With some BT mice, the official Windows 10 control panel does not work. It asks for a PIN and fail.
You have to execute control.exe (the old style control panel) and add your mouse in the add bluetooth peripheral sub panel.
It asks for a PIN. You leave it blank and click next (which won’t work in the official control panel).

I connected my Galaxy S7 to my Windows10 and transferred a file, using your instructions, thank you.
– What I am seeking is to connect my phone to Win10 and hear the caller’s voice on my Win10 speaker. This is done In a modern car via Bluetooth, isn’t it? In the car case, ringing, and answering is also done via Bluetooth. but (for now) I would settle for using the Galaxy handset for answering the phone call and speaking back. I just want the Galaxy phone audio to be heard on the PC.
– Possible?
