Downloaded the latest Windows Movie Marker – I see it’s not free unless you can tolerate their watermark on your videos.

If you can grab a hold of the original Movie maker install file you can just install it on Windows 10 it will work flawlessly. Just make sure you delete the shortcut created on the desktop and create a new shortcut from the program directory. That way Movie maker won’t ask for registration (you won’t be able to register anyway as the links is dead) 😉

EZVid not working. It start loading and crash silently. Developers need to fix it.

We didn’t have this issue on the two Windows 10 PCs on which we tested it. I’m sorry to hear that you did.

Nice list! I would also add Filmora for pro users and my favorite, Animotica, perfect for vloggers like me.

Unfortunately, both Filmora and Animotica are placing watermarks on videos, and you can’t remove them unless you buy these apps. Furthermore, Animotica encodes videos at poor quality and keeps on crashing on our system. No, we don’t think these are worthy replacements to Windows Movie Maker. Maybe in the future. 🙂

Thank you for this review. I have been frustrated by the fact I can’t use Movie Maker on my work PC. This review however has set back my frustrations and I appreciate the work done on this. I am going to try Shotcut – I just needed to rotate a set of video’s so I am hopeful this will do the job. Now that I see the options (never worked with video’s) I think I might add transitions and music. Thank you again 🙂 Kudos….
