I’m getting an ‘explosion sound’ when I log on to Explorer or l shut down at the end of the day. That is to say: I turn the computer on, I enter the password, the tiles crop up, I click on the ‘start’ tile which shows my desktop and the ‘taskbar’ where the Explorer icon is located. I press the Explorer icon, and then the explosion sound occurs. I think it is an invasion from a virus of some kind–only in the past month has this happened. How do I get rid of it, how do I find it’s source. And yes, my sounds from the control panel is turned off..

I don’t know what kind of virus could produce a sound like that. If you have antivirus software installed, do a thorough scan to see what it turns up. If you do not have antivirus software, we have recommended several excellent programs both free and paid. To find our reviews, go to the search box (the little magnifying glass above where it says Subscribe to 7 Tutorials), type the word antivirus and press enter.

Hi,
I use a HP Elite desktop with Win7 Home for a couple years and slowly programs have stopped working.
Started with Office 2007 Word, then Excel, then I couldn’t Preview pictures, then some programs wouldn’t install.
I use Kingsoft AV and keep it updated and run ComboFix and Malwarebytes with nothing found

So I’ve re-formated my drive and reinstalled Win7 and have everything installed again,
except Office 2007 won’t go past a a few seconds, then stop with an error that it doesn’t show.

So do you think I can figure out why it doesn’t install using the Event Viewer ?
If yes, how ?
thanks
