At IFA Berlin, Sony announced the launch of a new smartphone. It is called Xperia 5, and it\'s part of the Sony flagship series, with a thin and compact design. Sony Xperia 5 has most of the features found on the Xperia 1, in a smaller form, while at the same time keeping the high quality 21:19 aspect ratio display. The smartphone also has a photo system with three cameras on its back. It looks similar to the Xperia 1, but it is slightly narrower and not as tall, making it easier to hold in your hands, and your pockets. Sony Xperia 5 vs. Xperia 1 Sony Xperia 5 is available in four color versions (black, grey, blue, and red), which you can see in the picture below. The thin metal edge is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 that covers the front, as well as the back, while the IP65/IP68 tests guarantee water resistance and the quality of its components. Sony Xperia 5 is available in multiple color variations The screen has 6.1 inches, Full HD+ resolution, and it uses OLED technology. The aspect ratio of 21:9 is ideal for running two apps simultaneously. Users can benefit from the Split Screen feature, which divides the 21:9 screen into multiple windows. Its aspect ratio is excellent for both gaming and movies, providing a wider field of view, and a viewing experience that is more immersive than that of other smartphones that use the traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. What the Sony Xperia 5 looks like from the front The photo system on the back has three 12-megapixel cameras, with the Eye AF technology found on the Sony Alpha cameras. This allows you to make continuous burst photographs at 10 frames per second with AF/AE (Auto Focus and Auto Exposure) enabled, and with the option to increase to up to 30 frames per second. When it comes to recording video, Xperia 5 can record at a maximum resolution of 2160p and 30 frames per second, with HDR turned on. Advanced movie recording features on the Sony Xperia 5 Sony Xperia 5 promises spectacular photographs in low light, thanks to its bright lens with F1.6 aperture, 1.4 μm pixel density, and to its Dual PhotoDiode image sensor. If we also take into consideration the RAW noise reduction tech, Xperia 5 seems to be an excellent smartphone for anyone passionate about photography. The back of the Sony Xperia 5 Xperia 5\'s screen also comes with HDR (High Dynamic Range), for more contrast, color, and clarity. Xperia 5 uses 10-bit colors and can display an infinite number of tones, as well as deep blacks and natural white. The entertainment factor is amplified by the built-in Dolby Atmos technology, for an immersive experience when you are using headphones or the stereo speakers on the Xperia 5. With Sony\'s audio technologies playing high-resolution audio, through a wired connection and also wirelessly, DSEE HX and the stereo speakers make listening to music a premium experience. The Sony Xperia 5 smartphone Xperia 5 comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage space. In its Dual SIM version, the phone also lets you use a microSD card, to increase the already generous storage space. The charging is done via a USB 3.1 Type-C port, and its fast-charging battery has a capacity of 3140 mAh. Just like we expected from a high-end smartphone, this one too has a high-speed fingerprint sensor, positioned on its right side, like we have seen before on other Xperia models. Different color versions of Sony Xperia 5 The smartphone ships with Android 9 Pie preinstalled, and Sony plans to release upgrades to Android 10 sometime in the future. Gamers will be pleased to know that the Xperia 5 supports the DualShock 4 controller from the PlayStation console, connecting directly to it, through its Bluetooth 5 chip. Indeed it is. Also, it fits better in your hands than Xperia 1. In this regard, Xperia 5 is a better fit for people with smaller hands.
