Does changing your name make it harder for websites to deanonimise you? I am using Tor and a vpn for ipad 6th gen on version 14.8.1 and the website I visit still seems to know me as it blocks me? I am able to comment for some time but they always seem to catch on and block me. Maybe because I dont have a paid subscription? ( even though almost everyone on it also does not pay), maybe because I am using Tor and they dont like me doing so.

Question is ,how do they know it is me if I am using Tor and a vpn? Is it because I cant see the site at all UNLESS i enable javascript; so they then get browser strings which include… the name i normally have on my Ipad? Or is it because they can then do network enquiries and see what my real IP address is?

    Any help is appreciated.

Those websites don’t know it’s you. They just know that the traffic received from your device is unusual, because of TOR + VPN, and they tend to block it, because that type of traffic is usually used for attacks and all kinds of dodgy stuff.

I changed my iPhone name because somehow it changed its name to iPhone (6) — it’s not a 6. Don’t know what happened…
