Thanks for the review. I had the previous version of this watch but after one week of use I send it back with lots of frustration.
* The accuracy of sleep tracking was bad, just sitting reading a book or a movie it thought I am sleeping.
* there was no way to turn off Bluetooth so going to bed meant that trying to put all my devices to sleep mode was still having my watch trying to find some connection
* there is no way to export your data for viewing outside the app
* the supported sports modes are so little! There is no gym, no hiit practically nothing besides running…
*and blood ox was all over the place… Most of the time I was dying according to the watch…
All in all a great idea but it was a pile of techno junk

Did they fix any of these things?

Hi! As far as I can tell, at least part of your complaints have been fixed. The blood oxygen measurements were OK during testing (it only had an error once, reading 85), there are now more supported sports activities, sleep tracking was pretty good and you can connect the app to Google Health. I definitely noticed some bugs, as described in the article, but Asus says they will be fixed in the production models (the one I tested was an early sample).

Hi! And thanks again for your great technical reviews and the detail of work! Thanks also for your answers. Just to followup, can you confirm that the Bluetooth can be turned off? That really bugged me out that I can’t turn off RF when I sleep.
Also can you confirm that they have some sort of gym/fitness mode? Missing that is sort of weird.
Any interesting updates since your review?
Thanks

Tudor Dan

Hello and thank you for your kind words! I can confirm that there is no way (that I know of) to turn Bluetooth off from the watch itself. What you can do is either turn off the Bluetooth on your phone, or simply turn off the watch overnight (long press the button). As for activities, our sample has Jogging, Treadmill, Swimming, Walking, and Cycling (beta). Sadly, we don’t have updates, as our test sample still isn’t able to update its firmware.

you may want to edit this feature out. other articles write: ASUS VivoWatch 5 does not have a body temperature measurement function.
