I hate captcha which can’t be read. I like solve media captcha due to that.

Now this I can live with….hate captcha that can’t be read. Awesome!

Thank you for testing and commenting.

  4. John Lesnak says:

    I hate captchas.

    • Ciprian Adrian Rusen says:

The alternative to this captcha system is a website filled with spam. Without anti-spam protection about 100 spam comments would be posted on a daily basis.

  5. brian99 says:

GREAT! Easy to read and easy to use!

  6. Rich says:

This is great compared to the old style captcha’s which were very difficult to read and often times frustrating trying to recycle new readable word combinations. Good job Ciprian 😉

What a great idea! Nice way to break up monotony and add a little fun to the day. Also, so much easier to do and read. Is there a way you can let us know when this become the new or normal way to make sure there is a real person behind the keyboard and not a bot?

    • Ciprian Adrian Rusen says:

Captchas became the norm when spam got widespread. There are so many automated bots on the web, you have no idea until you own your own website and try to keep it clean.

As I said in an earlier comment, without any anti-spam measures, you would see on our website about 100 new spam comments each day.

We would need to hire a person to work all day on reading all the comments we receive and deleting spam. That’s just not feasible.

      • Judy says:

I’m sorry. I don’t think I was very clear with my question. What I meant was I would like the “new norm…” to be when the new Captcha System that your survey was about is used more regularly by other website developers, as well. It would make things so much easier and clearer to understand. Some of the Captchas out there now are very unreadable, making it impossible to reprint them. Hope this clears up what I really meant to say.

        Sincerely,
        Judy

I don’t know when such captchas will become the new norm. It is a matter of adoption amongst website owners. What’s good is that more and more companies try to provide better alternatives, including Solve Media. It means that some people realize the current user experience is bad and they are trying to change things for the better.

  8. Greg Custard says:

I personally love the captcha by Confident Technologies. Don’t be persuaded by solve media as their CAPTCHA still displays similar distorted images like reCAPTCHA. Picture CAPTCHAS are much better and more intuitive.

    • Ciprian Adrian Rusen says:

They are very similar to Solve Media. I did not find their solution in my search for alternatives. Thanks for sharing.
