thanks, this is so obscure even the windows site had it wrong! and it’s apalling to see here it’s even removed in newer OS versions. who are the UI people? #WTF

Damn, thank you so much for this – not realising I could change this bugged me as I had an old/irrelevant network name from literally years before.
Great article I was busting how to change the name after replacing a defective router modem as it was showing same network name as before but a number 2 was assigned
It won’t work for me because it won’t let me edit the Network name textbox.
