have been trying to install my xbox 1, nearly got through it but have been stuck when it comes to the verification code supplied by Microsoft. After typing in the four digit code it just stops. Even after asking for another verification code and installing it it just does the same thing. Can anybody help, please?
Can’t get past the screen with the pic of the controller with the logo with the green ring going up and down, pls help, tks.

Ive done all this start up for x box and then brought it to my boyfriend’s and when he switches it on its the green xbox screen snd then goes black/blank and nothing.
Just set up my first Xbox One for my 10 year old son (Christmas present). A few points:
1. Totally agree the above procedure will take a few hours, mine needed a 1Gb update, so probably best to ensure you have a fibre broadband and connect your Xbox with a cable to your router.
2. Turning on your Xbox, whilst I found it relatively easy to start up the Xbox, the controller took a little longer, it seems you have to press and hold for a few seconds. Likewise when switching off.
3. I found it very useful to have Microsoft’s more extensive getting started guide to hand: http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/browse/xbox-one/getting-started there were times I wanted a little more background information than what Ciprian gives above.
4. Accounts: In step 6, I created the child account, which also requires you to link the child account to your account and enables you to optionally configure Parental Controls. There is a short introduction here: http://www.cnet.com/uk/how-to/how-to-set-up-parental-controls-on-the-xbox-one/
as well as on the Xbox website. If you don’t already have an MS outlook.com or similar account now is the time to set one up – just have your mobile phone to hand as MS will use it to send you keycodes so you can confirm it really is you making account changes.
5. What threw me was being asked to create a Passkey on the Xbox and not recognising the tiny symbols MS were displaying next to each number and not beng able to locate any source that could help me!
Basically the passkey number pad uses the following controller key presses:
1. Directional Pad ‘Up’
2. Directional Pad ‘Left’
3. Directional Pad ‘Down’
4. Directional Pad ‘Right’
5. Left Trigger
6. Right Trigger
7. Left Bumper
8. Right Bumper
9. Y Button
10. X Button
Just like other MS products (eg. Win8 and later) there is a degree of assuming you already know, hence reason for lack of explanation.
7. Sign-in/Parental approval: If you’ve got the Kinect, use it! This is ‘magic’ that works.

I tried using these steps but the setup is different and this needs updating, when I put a parent account in, it sais that its not there and wants me to redo all the stupid passwords and emails

Im honestly about to break my kids xbox, its so complicated and silly, and u get to the point where it just gives u a msg and freezes, with no way back or going forward, i have to takenit back to where i bought so they fix it, come on xbox!! Did we buy an airplane or a game for our kids!!!

So my son got a new Xbox one s, I dnt hve Internet connection so we took the system to my mother’s for the setup, after sitting there for hrs waiting, it said the process was done, we brought the system hme, plugged it up & it won’t allow us to sign-in or get started, we are not interested in playing live, we purchased a disc game & all we want to do is to play the disc we purchased. What did I do wrong, & what can I do to fix it, my son is desperate to play his game. Please someone help me.

This is stupid to have to sign on to internet just to allow my 12 y/o son to play his xbox one…..not every one can afford internet…….there needs to be a way to where my son can play without having to have internet! Yall didnt have internet only setup on xbox 360, why have it on xbox one!?!?!?

This may be a faulty Xbox One unit. You may want to return it and get another one back which works.
