7 replies on 2 ways to change the language used by Cortana in Windows 10

I’m using this guide to switch Cortana from Italian to US English. When i go to language options screen i get a different screen and a loading icon that says “searching for new features in Windows Update” wich leads to nothing and than disappears.

    What’s the problem?

Windows needs to check for and download the language files. If nothing happens, it might be because Microsoft servers are overloaded these days. You could try to do a Windows Updates check though.

  2. Emilio Wilde says:

Everything was fine changing from English US to Spanish, the system is almost identical in Windows 8.1, for now 100% satisfaction with Windows 10

  3. Bella says:

Can I have Cortana speak both english and french at the same time, or do I have to only have her set to one?

  4. Lili Simone says:

I’m an old geek with very little patience with social net, phone apps, etc. I do not own any Win10 yet, and Cortana is one of the reasons. However… I’m fluent in 3 languages and can dab in 2 or 3 more. I will truly embrace Cortana when it could dynamically change from one language to another. In the mean time, I will disable it in my next Win10. (I tried Win10 the first day they offered the free upgrade in two of my pcs; it did not last.)

  5. Manel says:

So fully useless, at least for me, as Cortana does not speak my language.
