Yes 8.1 is faster. I just went back to 8.1 after the WM 10 update 15007. The most recent 15007 update rendered my phone unusable. I can’t begin to describe the problems. Went back to 8.1 and rediscovered what a great OS 8.1 is. It’s more visually pleasing, much faster and actually better with it’s simplicity and less features. Even Xbox Music is smoother, more functional and more straightforward. Love the unique slider menu, which WM10 mobile rarely uses now, which now uses the hamburger menu…..why?
The developers should consider re-incorporating some of 8.1 features into WM10. Love the bouncing incoming call feature and the dial pad on 8.1, I can go on and on.
I’m going to chill with 8.1 for now and wait for WM10 to really get it together.

I think your test are accurate except for the battery draining test. Window 10 mobile was draining my battery way faster and could not last a day. It was bad. Except for a few superficial improvements and sync with your pc, wp10 offered nothing useful to the mobile user..in fact everything is just so slow and it gets irritating because wp8.1 was way more efficient. It lasted 1-2 days before I reverted back t 8.1 and I could not be happier. I just wished Microsoft would make some thing worthwhile not the crap it dished out with windows 10 and all the data collection nonsense. Wp8.1 way more stable, efficient and less nonsense.

When I upgraded to WIndows 10 I lost a lot of my apps.. The apps no longer work on Windows 10 especially the HERE app, navigation app WHICH I LOVED.
