Microsoft Edge now gets even more out of your battery - Microsoft has tested Edge and Chrome battery life. Using the same Netflix test, Microsoft claims Edge lasted 8 hours and 47 mins, compared to 6 hours and 3 mins for Chrome. That's 45 percent longer than Chrome, and 69 percent longer than Firefox. The only browser that comes close is Opera with 7 hours and 8 minutes of battery life, but Edge still lasts 23 percent longer.

Microsoft brings Office Lens to Windows 10 PCs, phones and HoloLens; adds Office 365 support - Today, Microsoft has expanded availability of Office Lens, bringing the handy app to Windows 10 PCs, tablets, and even its HoloLens headset. The new Universal Windows Platform app also works on Windows 10 Mobile phones.

Microsoft reveals details of plans for SMS support in Windows 10 Skype Preview app - Referred to as 'SMS relay', Microsoft says that it allows Skype Preview users to send and receive both text messages (SMS) and multimedia messages (MMS) from a Windows 10 PC, when Skype is set as the default messaging app on your Windows 10 Mobile smartphone. New messages will appear in the Skype Preview app on your PC, and you can respond to them directly from there too.
New update to Skype for Linux Alpha brings unread messages-related fix - Microsoft has pushed out a new update to the Skype for Linux Alpha app that was released back in July this year. The update bumps the app to version 1.7, and brings along a couple of fixes, including one related to unread messages.
