WOW I love all of the Win 7 desktop backgrounds! A naging question that I have had was how much post-processing was done…I’m so glad they these pictures are ‘real’

Hi Will,

Thats awesome work. Really appreciate that.
But did you have any technical difficulty in dealing with your pictures. Like, Resolution, Size of the Image and thing like that. Would love to know that….

Thanks

Will

No problems there, they were bigger than needed for the wallpaper. Three are scans from transparencies and 3 are digital images, I think 12 megapixel. No other technical challenges, the photos are pretty much straight from the camera, no special treatments.

Thanks for asking,

Will

Are you the artist that took the photograghs featured in the windows 7 theme, United States? If so I would really love to know exactly which city and state those photos where taken. This may sound corny but i want to visit some of those locations. Especially the photo of the lake surrounded by the blue and purple flowers, Lavender if i’m not mistaken. Thank You very much.

Will, a co-worker asked the question of what is the photo of the purple flower, plant or coral? Can you explain what it is please.

You have it labeled as windows7.jpg on this page.

Love your work.

Thanks.

Will

Hello, and thanks for asking. The more purple flower is an artichoke. They are great to eat but turn a spectacular color if allowed to flower. The more red flower is a Dahlia. I get many questions about my photos and the others on Windows 7 so I think I will ask my contacts at Microsoft about this, maybe there is a listing somewhere…..

Also, if anyone is interested, I made a new WordPress blog. Here is the address-

I had to do some sleuthing to find this site but glad I did. Your work is superb. I was looking to find the location of that metsl sculpure archetecture .. and found your name in the properties of the shot and then binged around to find you here. So, now I know where it is and I hope you continue to have a great career in photography.
