I agree with your statement in the article that all SIM Cards have a PIN Attached to them. However, I recently switched to SpectrumMobile, and SpectrumMobile INSISTS that it does not use SIM Pin Codes. In my attempts to put a SIM Card PIN on my iPhone, I have locked two SIM Cards, and when I contact SpectrumMobile to get the PUK Code to unlock my SIM Card, SpectrumMobile states that there is NOT one, I am FORCED to get a new SIM Card. I have always had SIM Card PIN Locks on my smartphones. Is SpectrumMobile setting its customers up for SIM Hacking, and switching!
We don’t know what kind of SIM cards are used by SpectrumMobile. They may be using newer SIM cards that don’t have a PIN. However, that seems like a rather insecure approach to us.
I have tried to retrieve voice mail using my passcode but says is wrong so I entered new but still won’t accept. What is wrong?
Does setting PIN for SIM protect the user from SIM-SWAP frauds ?
Remove pin1 puk1 and block may sim card
Isn’t a pin on the phone enough?
Or are you worried about someone taking out the SIM and inserting it into another phone?
Exactly. 😉
Need a PUK2 number
