Microsoft will try to offer a different take on gaming with Windows 10, which is connected to the universal apps and will offer a ‘true’ cross-platform play experience. As such, we wanted to see what games can be played in Windows 10 and, of course, which offer a great quality free of any charge. There are a lot of both free and commercial possibilities for you to try, but we decided to propose to you 10 free games that you can play today on any of your Windows 10 powered devices. Still, do keep in mind that most of these games, also, offer a series of paid features, that will enhance your gaming experience if you make in-app purchases. Also, we have tried to cover a wide range of genres, for different types of players and preferences, as it is not easy to cover all the top rated free games available in the Windows Store.
As we have already mentioned, one of the most important features of this new Microsoft policy is the potential ability to play games across platforms, with the help of the universal apps. This means that, for example, you will be able to play an online game on your computer with people that use the Xbox version of it. This strategy, that requires a fairly important development of the technical area, will make it possible for Microsoft to bring together its Xbox and Windows platforms. Also, it means that Microsoft will create a new gaming ecosystem that spans from laptops and desktop PCs to tablets and, of course, game consoles and smartphones with Windows.
In the center of all of these new gaming features, we will find the Xbox app, that is built into Windows 10. Those of you that have played with an Xbox One will immediately notice that this application resembles that of their Xbox dashboard with all of its interesting features.
