For whatever reason, I found it much more productive to move my taskbar to the side (wide screen dilemma), go back to the quick launch bar, and disable the slew of icons that permeated the bar–so maybe no more than three icons are ever apparent. That’s just me.

That’s a matter of personal style. For example i don’t use quick launch icons. The Start Menu search does the job for me.
Also, I don’t keep any shortcuts on the desktop. I love a clear wallpaper with no distractions on it.

I there any way to delay the appearance of a hidden taskbar inWin7 for say two seconds or so? I keep mine hidden at the side, and if I miss the scroll bar a little with the mouse pointer the taskbar jumps out and covers the scroll. Then I have to wait for it to retreat to get to what I want. Thanks.

If you have multiple windows open, press Windows Key + Tab to roll between any open windows. Stop at the window you want,or continue to hold down the windows button while pressing on tab to move forward to the next window. This is handy if you have a browser opened but need to get to previously opened windows/control pannel or desktop etc. all the best. Rab

What’s with the expand and shrink at random, and how do I make it stop? How about windows suddenly closing?

I think either someone is playing a prank on you, remote controlling your Windows computer or, you have a virus of some kind. Either way, download and install a good security suite and scan your computer.
