Your tutoral is great, only problem it does not work. After I have connected my camera and followed the suggested dialogue, at the end comes a message that says ACCESS DENIED. Any idea what is going wrong?

Ciprian Adrian Rusen

Can you share a screenshot of the error message please, so that I understand where exactly your access is denied?

Win7 is terrible for importing photos and this tutorial shows you how bad it is. I, like 99% of the population would have photos that we would like to segregate as we import not lump them into one huge folder. Win XP had a great attachment for this but it got lost in transition.

That’s why we recommend using Windows Live Photo Gallery. See this tutorial for details: http://www.digitalcitizen.life/importing-pictures-videos-camera-windows-live-photo-gallery

I did this with and older olympus FE170. I put the xd card into my card reader and followed this procedure. Anyway I chose NOT to erase all the photos when done. I did and now the card is dead and asks to be reformated. I tried reformatting it on my PC and it gives and error. I tried reformatting the card on the camera and it just tries for an hour to no avail.

It also only copied about half of the pictures. Some were corrupt and I kept getting message to try again, skip or skip all. I kept pressing try again but it seemed like every other picture imported this message would pop up. So in short now my xD card does not work and I lost half of my pictures. I have no idea what happened.

Any one else have this experience?

When I try to import photos from my Nokia mobile it says looking for photos then tells me how many has been found and then nothing else happens. I left it on this for over half hour and still nothing. It found 99 photos but the next window does not pop up to tell me to continue etc. Please can you help. I have windows 7.

When I used Windows 7 software to import my RAW images from Nikon D800, it erased about half of them. How can I restore the lost images? They aren’t on the CompactFlash drive & not on my computer either.

I imported my photos as described, but clicked the erase after importing box. The photos came up in my Pictures folder yet when I went to reopen them, they weren’t there. Any ideas as to where they might be stored?

Is there any way to select the ‘from’ file? I only want windows to pull pictures from my sd card in my android phone not search the whole damn phone.

When importing photos from my Android phone to Windows 7 using windows import tool, it chooses to import every image file on my phone. It usually involves importing too many images. I want an option to specify from what folder I want to import from

When I try to upload a picture or video to You Tube, Facebook, etc I am only given the option to choose pictures from “my pictures”. But some things have been added to windows media play center and I can’t add anything from there. Anyone know how? Thanks so much!

I was importing pictures from my camera and I accidentally pressed cancel importing. The pics are still on my camera but when I try to import them again, it keeps telling me there are no new pics to import. How do I import the pics I cancelled again.
