When the alarm does sound, will it mute all other audio currently being played? I mostly play music through the night when i’m asleep and i just hope it won’t be played “over” the music, coz if it does, i won’t here it. So does it mute all other audio?

So – Cortana is a Voice-based utility …
But I don’t see how to create a Voice-based Reminder Alarm.
e.g. “It’s 9AM on Monday, so start the lawn sprinklers” (vocalized, preferably in my own voice)
Are we there yet with Cortana … or do I still need to ask Alexa?

Are these alarms supposed to actually wake you up ?
No way ! Heck, you set these alarms to put you to sleep. Unfortunately you can’t add any sounds or audio files.
Thanks MS, fubar’d again.

How can I silence the alarm without gettig up and searching the mouse? For example, it would be nice to shutup the alarmsound by pressing ESC or ENTER or SPACE.

MARIA MADALINA BLAGA, your article on setting the alarm clock in Windows 10 was brilliant! It is so far superior to the incomplete Microsoft support article as well as the many others I viewed from other sources. They are full of suppositions–e.g., assuming one knows where to find the alarm clock which they never tell you how to do! Your article is detailed, logical, clear, interesting, and perfectly sequenced. There are no mistakes of omission, commission or ambiguity. Plus the illustrations are large and each element is perfectly visible, unlike the near-microscopic, useless ones in other people’s articles–provided they even offer any illustrations. What a relief to finally read lucid, intelligent computer instructions. Thank you so much!!!
Happy to help Christie. If you enjoy our work, don’t hesitate to subscribe. All our tutorials use the same approach and you will find them useful.

My plan is use my alarm as a support tool to build good habits around taking regular breaks from my desk & computer. Inevitably, there will be times when I don’t need the alarm and break before my alarm goes off. What will happen if I’m out of the room when my alarm sounds… ? I sit in a team of 6 sometimes 7 – it’s gonna be a real pain in the proverbial for my team mates if I’m out of the room and my alarm goes off … how can I mitigate this?

I set my alarm and it works fine as long as I’m on the computer. If the computer goes to sleep the alarm doesn’t sound. That’s the way I have it set, so that’s not the problem. The problem is that when I wake up the computer click on the date and time to access my calendar, the alarm is still sounding way after the time it’s set at. At the moment, the alarm is still sounding 1-1/2 hours after it was set.
I can’t find the setting to turn it off. I turned the alarm off at the settings….still sounding. I deleted that alarm setting….still sounding. I can’t find out how to access the window that says ‘snooze’ and ‘dismiss’. How long will this go on?
Restart the computer, instead of waking it from sleep. That should help.

I dont want the alarm sound…in the list of different sounds there should be a ‘silent’ option. I dont want any sound, just the notification pop-up on screen. How do I do that?
