When it works, it’s just what it claims to be… a simple way to time things and set recurring and one-off alarms.

It doesn’t work at all if your screen is turned off… which is a normal condition in any unattended laptop. Even when plugged in and not “sleeping”, most people have screen timeouts set… so this app is worthless for waking you up in the morning unless you want to keep your laptop lid open and the screen powered up all night.

It does what it promises only on devices with Connected Standby. (We have a note in the article).

Unfortunately this feature is available only on very new tablets and laptops. As in those manufactured this year. 🙁

I have a laptop I bought in 2012. It’s a Toshiba Satellite A665D that came with windows 7. I upgraded it to windows 10 a couple months ago, and the alarm app works on it,

andy

How to add this app to startup in windows 8.1 ??

Ciprian Adrian Rusen

I’m afraid you can’t do that.

Can we customize the chimes of the alarms? can we use songs instead?

Mike W.

Not through the app but if you are willing to change its resource files it is possible. I have not been able to change the names to reflect accordingly though.

Alain

How can i uninstall it ?

I actually really like this tool. I would like it even more if I could set it using 24 hour clock. Anyway to do that?

Rajan

Where the hour handle is, you can turn it around twice. The first time you turn it around, it shows 0-12 then the next time it shows 12-24.

An alarm has somehow been set that does not show up on the Alarms screen. It goes off every day at 3:19 pm, but the only alarm showing is a different one that I set for 6:45 pm. The 3:19 pm alarm is not visible. I assume that this is a bug. Is there an alternate way to delete all alarm data? (I can always re-save the 6:45 pm alarm.)

Vicky

I’ve been searching for the same answer for days. I had three alarms set. They all disappeared from the app, but still went off at the time set. When two of them went off, I just hit discard, and they went away for good. But I had one set to go off every day, and since it has disappeared from the app, it keeps going off every day now. There has to be a data file for these alarms. I just need to know where it is, so I can delete the darn thing. Someone PLEASE HELP.

Any way to put in custom alarm sounds? Couldn’t find any folder where the sounds are kept . . .
