Happy New Year, everyone! This is our first recap with Microsoft news for 2015. It’s been an interesting week with news about Microsoft’s upcoming browser and new features announced for Windows Phone. We also have some fun and useful tips that might help if you’re using Gmail and two-factor authentication. Sway for iPhone is available more broadly - Microsoft’s new presentation software, Sway, is now available as an iPhone app. You can find it in the App Store and it is available in several countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, India, Australia and New Zealand as well as some other countries where English is an official language.

Microsoft Spartan: First look at the new browser - Microsoft has announced a new browser to be included in Windows 10. All we know is that its codename is Spartan and Neowin has published some screenshots of the new user interface. Read the full article for more tails.

Windows 10’s new browser will have the most advanced features ever - Spartan is said to have some unique features that other browser don’t currently have, such as Cortana and OneDrive integration. Apparently, Microsoft wants their new browser to be a Windows Store app.

Offline access to OneDrive on the cards for Windows Phone - Microsoft wants to provide offline access to your OneDrive documents on Windows Phone. We don’t yet know when this feature will be live, but we are looking forward to it.

Microsoft to release ISOs alongside Windows 10 January Preview - Windows 10 Preview will apparently be shipped through ISO images, too. This is good news, considering that it took some time to download and install the previous test builds through PC Settings.

Kantar's latest smartphone market report mostly shows declines for Windows Phone - Kantar Worldpanel has published a report regarding the smartphone market share numbers for November 2014. Apparently, Windows Phone’s market share went down to 3% in the US (from a 4.6% in the same quarter in 2013). The research company says that the sales of the iPhone 6 have had a direct impact on this decrease.

Finding great books just got easier with Bing best-sellers search - Bing just got a new feature: the best-sellers carousel. You can now search for your favorite books and discover new ones directly from Bing.

Now access your password protected sections in the OneNote for Windows Store app - The OneNote app for Windows 8.1 has received a new feature: you can now unlock existing password protected sections in your notes from any of your Windows 8.1 devices running the app. Read the full article for more information on how to use this feature.
