Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10565 - Microsoft is previewing its latest Windows 10 update and it comes with some interesting changes. You can find a complete presentation in this official announcement.

Announcing Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10549 - Microsoft has released the Windows 10 Mobile preview build 10549 to members of the Windows Insider program. It has also published a list of what's been fixed compared to the earlier test build and what known issues are still found in this new build.

Microsoft starts internal development of Windows 10 ‘Redstone’ - Redstone will be what Windows 8.1 was to Windows 8, bringing much needed changes and improvements to the feature-set and design of Windows 10. Redstone is scheduled to launch around a year after Windows 10 did, and is the n ext version of Windows.

Windows 10 upgrade installing automatically on some Windows 7, 8 systems - For the first year of its availability, Windows 10 is available for free to most Windows 7 and 8 users. Until now, the operating system has been delivered as an optional update; while Windows Update gives it prominent positioning, it shouldn't be installed automatically. Over the last couple of days, the situation seems to have become a little more aggressive. People's systems are not merely downloading the installer but actually starting it up.

We snubbed Microsoft's Surface Pro wooing, says Lenovo exec - Both HP and Dell were hired as global resellers for Microsoft’s enterprise tab-cum-notebook last month, selling the hardware wrapped in a services blanket, much to the annoyance of some channel types. But Gianfranco Lanci, president and COO at Lenovo, told attendees at the recent Canalys Channels Forum, “I said no to resell their product”. He revealed that Microsoft “asked me more than one year ago, and I said no I don’t see any reason why I should sell a product from within brackets, competition.”

Microsoft lab predicts a working quantum computer within 10 years - According to a new paper lead-authored by researchers at Microsoft's quantum lab, a working quantum device could arrive within the next 10 years. "Recent improvements in control of quantum systems make it seem feasible to finally build a quantum computer within a decade," reads the abstract, published this week.
